We often have clients ask us if you can do this or that, even though it is not on our pricing list or description of services.  I have to admit, depending on how busy we are, or how loyal the client is, we often say yes.  Not Good!

We’ve found we have become quite diluted in our services.  It is hard to be seen as an expert in an area when your services are so broad.

Why do we do it?  Often it is the inability to say no, or knowing the competition of larger companies that can do the job with the risk of us losing the client.  Our company doesn’t have hundreds of clients, so each one is important to us, and we want to make sure they are happy.  No matter what service we provide our client, both standard and off-the-cuff, we still do so with the quality and timeliness they have come to expect.

I guess my point is learn to say “NO”, but if you don’t, make sure you don’t sacrifice the company reputation by delivering inferior quality.
